Daniel Rose

Daniel John Rose

Group CEO & Portfolio Manager – MCMIP Commodity Credit Fund SP

Daniel is responsible for leading MCM’s strategy across three distinct business verticals (Capital Markets, Asset Management, Private Wealth) to drive revenue growth, operational excellence and strategic partnerships.

Daniel is the Founder and Portfolio manager of the MCMIP Commodity Credit Fund. He is a commodity specialist with 20+ years’ experience in the commodity sector across financing, physical trading and funds management.

Prior to joining MCM partners, Daniel was CEO and Board Director of VTB Capital Hong Kong (VTBC), overseeing an SFC regulated Investment Banking platform with operations in Capital Markets, Investment Banking, M&A and Asset Management.

In addition to his role as CEO, Daniel led the bank’s Asian Commodities business which actively traded physical metals, energy, bulks, agricultural products and provided bespoke financing solutions to clients across Asia-Pac.

Daniel spent the first part of his career working with Societe Generale in their Global Commodity business. He gained experience in various parts of the market working in Sydney, London, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Daniel holds a Bachelor of Law (Honors) and Bachelor of Commerce from Bond University in Australia where he studied as a scholarship holder.

Adrian Valenzuela

Former Managing Director and Co-Head of Global Equities Distribution, JP Morgan.

Adrian Valenzuela is Co-Founder and CEO of MCM Partners. He relocated to Hong Kong in early 2011 and joined Barclays Capital as a Managing Director and Head of Distribution for Equity Liquid Markets across the Asia Pacific Region. He played a central role in the firm’s expansion, participating in the hiring of circa 200 staff recruited across sales, trading and research. He was a member of the Global Equities Management Committee, Asia Sales Management Committee, and Asian Equities Executive and Management Committees.

He previously worked for JP Morgan from early 2007 and had several promotions during his time, latterly co-heading the global distribution across cash equities and equity derivatives for the equity division. He was part of the Global Equities Executive Committee, Equity Derivatives Global Management Committee and the Global Cash Equity Management Committee. He managed a sales force of over 500 sales professionals across the globe, delivering sales, trading and advisory to global institutional investors and corporations across equity products.

Between 2006 and 2007, Adrian ran the Alpha Strategies Group for Merrill Lynch International, working on advisory projects for various institutional investors across asset classes, and coordinating the strategic marketing campaigns across the equity division.

In 2005, he was a Founding Partner and Head of Marketing and Product Development for Wealth Management Group (WMG), an alternative asset management firm. He worked extensively in new fund development and capital-raising for various funds.

Previously, Adrian worked at Lehman Brothers International as Head of Pan-European Flow Derivatives Sales, including the coverage of global hedge funds for European derivative markets. He also worked at Morgan Stanley New York from 1998 until 2002 as Head of Equity Derivative Sales for Latin America and in the derivatives sales team for US hedge funds. In early 2002, he transferred to London as a senior salesperson for the European Hedge Fund Sales Desk for equity derivatives, also heading the sales teams for Southern Europe and France.

Adrian holds a BA in Economics from the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico, as well as various other certificates and degrees, including graduating from the Stanford University Senior Leadership Program. He began his career in emerging markets, trading fixed income securities for Santander from 1991 through 1994, later moving to ING Barings as part of their equities, equity strategy and equity derivatives teams.

Prior to joining MCM Partners, Vivian held senior operational roles at multinational asset management firms, where she was instrumental in streamlining operations, enhancing governance, and driving digital transformation initiatives. Her expertise lies in navigating the intersection of technology, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Vivian holds a dual degree in Finance and International Relations from the University of British Columbia. She is a strong advocate for female leadership in finance and actively mentors emerging professionals across the region.
